Elena N. Naumova

Professor Elena Naumova is renowned researcher and educator, author of over 150 peer-reviewed manuscripts, book chapters and technical reports on a broad range of topics in environmental and public health. Her expertize is in mathematical modeling of transient biological processes and the development of analytical and computational tools for monitoring and prediction of pathogen-induced and environmentally-driven diseases.

 

She is actively promoting public health applications with new study designs, including time series studies and Positive Deviance approach, the use of novel data sources, computer-intense simulation techniques, remote sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). She organized and led a number of international workshops and projects collaborating with epidemiologists and public health professionals in India, Ecuador, Kenya, Russia, Canada, Japan, and UK.

 

For over two decades Dr. Naumova have served on the national and international research review panels, editorial boards of scientific journals, including the Journal of Public Health Policy and Environmental Health Perspectives, the Tufts University Institutional Review Board, where she helped to shape and implement institutional policies on research ethic, data sharing and management, data quality assurance and information security.

 

As Academic Dean, she aims to create new opportunities to strengthen international interdisciplinary research and educational programs by expanding the partnership with grassroots and non-governmental organizations, industry partners and leading intergovernmental entities.
